Student of the GunModeratorCaleb A,
Magazines and clips are two different things. They are not nicknames for one another. That would be like you getting mad at your doctor for informing you that you have herpes when it is really only the flu.
Student of the GunModeratorQuality is a must for CCW. How much is your life worth to you?
Student of the GunModeratorStevo: Is there a particular reason you are using a handgun as a home defense weapon instead of a rifle? Our fighting rifles have a sling, XS Sights, light, and maybe a vertical foregrip.
Student of the GunModeratorSWMcAllister: Thanks for the review! Can I take your quote and use it as a testimonial? Send me an email. jarrad@studentofthegun.com
As for training up in that region, try TDI Ohio which is in Southern Ohio. Also, Tactical Response is in Tennessee but it would definitely be worth the drive.
Thanks for being a Student of the Gun!
Student of the GunModeratorIf you don’t train to do something….how do you expect it to be instinctive?? That sentence doesn’t make sense.
Student of the GunModeratorFront Sight is the most important thing to focus on. The bullet comes out directly under the front site. Focusing on the attacker is wrong. Front sight, front sight, front sight. Training will eliminate the having to think about it part. You shouldn’t have to think about it…your body should be conditioned to carry out the CORRECT steps without having to think about them first.
Student of the GunModeratorAR15 is less likely to penetrate through walls. Slow, heavy bullets penetrate further than fast, light bullets. Here is some material to consider:
Student of the GunModeratorWe usually have a primary with 1 extra mag and then a secondary weapon. If you have the room on your person…the more ammo, the better 🙂
Student of the GunModeratorCongratulations, Jerome! Welcome to the patriot club. Those of us that are well educated to history and just common sense in general are infuriated on a daily basis because of what is being done to this beautiful country and the youth of the country (the future of the U.S.A).
Thank you for listening! Spread the good word with us.
Best,
SOTGStudent of the GunModeratorThank you for the feedback, Tom! We upload the first hour second so it will look uniform on the website but it may be more important to make it so they can play in order from any podcast app. Thanks for letting me know! We should be back to 2 hour shows in 2 weeks so stay tuned. Make sure you leave us a rating on iTunes if you have a moment. It would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
SOTGStudent of the GunModeratorKerry,
Assuming you wear pants to church and you will be sitting the majority of the time, an ankle holster would be the most practical. I usually carry a Crossbreed super tuck AND an ankle holster. You can tuck your shirt in with the Crossbreed and nobody is any the wiser.
Student of the GunModeratorThere are 3 things that have to be present in order to justifiably use or demonstrate intent to use deadly force.
1. Ability
2. Opportunity
3. IntentWe cover this, and MUCH more, in depth in our Armed Living DVD. Pick up your copy by clicking HERE.
Student of the GunModeratorIf you want to actually be able to train…GLOCK! Didn’t you guys know GLOCK makes a 1911?? LOL!
